Do all electric cars have on board chargers?
Feb 21,2023 | TCcharger
Every EV has an onboard charger, the primary purpose of that is to transform Alternating modern-day from the grid into Direct modern for the battery.
Whilst you plug your electric powered automobile into an AC outlet, energy from the opening is transformed from AC to DC by your car’s onboard charger.
Energy from the grid is Alternating present day (AC), but electric powered vehicle batteries keep Direct current (DC). EVs have an onboard charger to transform AC to DC, whilst a few public charging stations have an in-constructed converter that works even quicker (these are known as off-board chargers).
OBCs also carry out other functions, like fee price tracking, modern-day safety and managing the conversion for V2L.
